audioBooks: Transferring to an iPod or MP3 Player
- Make sure you’ve downloaded OverDrive’s Media Console to your computer.
- Open Overdrive Media Console.
- Click once on the Audiobook you would like to transfer.
- Click on the "Transfer" button.
- When the Transfer Wizard opens, connect your device to the computer and follow the steps on the screen.

audioBooks are available in 2 different formats: MP3 and WMA. MP3:- Compatible with most devices, including Mac and Windows computers
- Can be transferred to iPod or other compatible music players
- Can be downloaded directly to mobile devices (such as smartphones and tablets) using the OverDrive Media Console app
- Compatible with just Windows computers
- Can be transferred to an iPod or other compatible music player
Find & Download audioBooks to Your Computer
- In your browser, search for audioBooks through the Library To Go website.
- When you find a book, click on its cover and then “Borrow”.
- If you’re not already logged in, enter your library name and library card number.
- To download audioBooks to your computer, you'll first need to download the Overdrive Media Console (you only need to download this once).
- Then, from your Overdrive bookshelf, click "Download". If offered a choice, select "MP3 Audiobook" and then click "Confirm and Download". Choose to open the file with Overdrive Media Console. Click "okay" or "yes" to any pop-ups that may appear.

eBooks: Downloading to a Sony Wifi
- Authorize your Sony Wifi:
- Skip ahead to Step 2 if you’ve already authorized your Sony eReader.
- Turn on your eReader and connect to a WiFi network.
- On the home screen, tap the “Reader Store” button.
- Choose "Create Account" and fill in the fields.
- Press the home button, and then go to the second home page (arrow is just under the "Collections" button).
- Press the "Public Library" button.
- If you don’t have a saved search:
- Enter your library's name, city, or province in the search box and search.
- Choose your library from the list of results.
- Choose your library system name from the following page.
- If you do have a saved search, press your library's name.
- Find and choose an eBook. To best find a book that you can check out right away:
- Click on "eSearches".
- Under format choose "ePub".
- Click the "Only show copies with titles available" checkbox and search.
- Add the book to your cart and checkout.
- Enter the name of your library, and your library card number.
- Download your library book.
- Press the Home button, and your book will be in the "Recently Added" section. Tap it to start reading.

Transferring eBooks to an eReader (Kobo, Nook or other compatible device)
Check the compatibility of your eReader to ensure it'll work with Library To Go. Watch a video about how to transfer eBooks.- Make sure you’ve downloaded Adobe Digital Editions to your computer.
- Authorize Your eReader:
- Skip to Step 3 if you’ve already authorized your reader with your computer.
- Connect your device to your computer.
- Open Adobe Digital Editions.
- Follow any instructions on your eReader's screen that say "Manage" or "Connect."
- Once your device is recognized, it should show up as an icon in the left-hand panel of Adobe Digital Editions in "Read" view.
- To copy a book to your eReader using Adobe Digital Editions, select the title and right click and copy to device, or drag and drop the eBook onto the device icon.
