Getting a Library Card

Permanent residents may join the library free of charge with proof of residency. The non-resident fee is $20 per year for a family membership. (Those who live in the Cluculz Lake area are considered non-residents for library membership because they have chosen not to be included in our tax base.)

Rights and Responsibilities

You are responsible for all the materials borrowed on your card and for any charges on items that are overdue, lost, or damaged. (See Loan Periods and Fines for details). You may also search our catalogue from home via the Internet, and access your account to place holds, keep lists and renew items.

Borrow From Other Libraries

With your Vanderhoof Public Library card this gives you the privilege of using it at other libraries in the province. Present your card at any BC Public Library and you will be able to borrow from them. There may be restrictions as to quantity of items and certain types of items. Each library reserves the right to place these restrictions.

Lost or stolen cards

If you lose your library card, you are responsible for any items checked out on your card.  You must report it as lost immediately and we will flag your account so that no one else can use it. There is a $3 charge to replace a lost card.
